This is the spot where I’m supposed to sell myself by pretending it was someone else that wrote this page.

But.. It’s not, It’s actually me writing this in a hotel room in quarantine during this crazy COVID 19 mess. Hopefully by the time you’re reading this the world is back to normal. Not the silly “New Normal” everyone keeps talking about, but real handshaking, friend hugging Normal.

Anyways, I’m going to keep this brief with a short introduction about my story so you know I’m “legit” because I hear that’s what I’m supposed to achieve with the “About” page.

Here’s my five-minute life story.

I started out as a blue-collar bush worker in Northern British Columbia and Alberta. Living in camps working in the oil patch and forestry.

But, even though I was making a great living for as young as I was, I didn’t like having a boss, having a limit on my income, and having my life controlled (sounds familiar?)

I wanted to be a businessman. I wanted to build something. So that’s what I did.

Well, that’s what I tried to do.

I decided to go all-in, full tilt, no turning back. I quit my job and started not one, not two, but three businesses at the same time. Three businesses in industries I knew nothing about.

(DVD rental, lead generation, and a taxi company if you’re curious)

Every single one of them were glorious and spectacular failures.

I ended up $137,000 in debt, my fiance dumped me, and I was pretty close to losing my townhouse to the bank.

After a few freak outs and questioning everything about my life, I wrote down on a sheet of paper, a list of questions. Questions like “how did I get here?” and “what am I missing?”

Eventually, I landed on “low confidence, no people skills, and I can’t sell”.

I decided then and there that Sales was the solution. On top of the ability to close more deals, it would also build my confidence and people skills.

Win-win-win.

I decided to learn by submerging myself headfirst into the hardest forms of selling I could think of. Car sales, Telemarketing, and Door to Door.

Starting from car sales, I moved into telemarketing and finished in Door to door selling.

Over the course of seven years I…

  • Devoured books, audio programs, and online courses on sales.
  •  Sought out the best of the best coaches and mentors.
  • Over time I got better, cracking six figures quickly.
  • I ended up running my own door to door office training 14 salespeople.
  • Expanded to three offices.
  • Eventually becoming a partner in the business.
  • Opened over 18 locations.
  • Trained over 3000 salespeople.
  • Started two other businesses still running today.
  • Made millions of dollars, traveled extensively, bought supercars, motorcycles, and lived the good life.
  • Met the love of my life.
  • Studied and learned the science of direct response marketing.

And a bunch of other stuff I don’t care to write about.

Right now, I am opening up a brand new direct sales agency to help train the next generation of salespeople, and offering training and marketing solutions to other businesses.

To wrap it all up, If you want to find out if we are a good fit to work together I recommend checking out some of my free stuff and social media accounts to see if we “jive”

To your (and my) success,

 Brad Martin
